ice ice baby

Last night, as I was sitting here reading other people's blogs, my best guy friend IM-ed me and asked me if I wanted to go ice skating with him and his sisters.
I answered with a resounding, "Hell yes!" of course.
When I got out on the ice, I was determined not to be a wall-hanger, so I got out there and actually skated. And you know what? Despite how clumsy I am, I did not fall even once. So ha ha ha ha, ha ha, ha everyone.
There were a LOT of middle school kids. Honestly, it was like 75% sixth-graders, and they all looked at me like I was the tallest/oldest person ever. I'm only 16, dudes, don't make me feel old. And the littlest kids were total douchebags! I'm serious, guys, they would like zoom across the rink at top speed and make it look like they were going to hit you then turn away at the LAST possible second.
There's an hour of skating, then they make you get off the ice for like 15 minutes so they can Zamboni the ruts out of the ice, and that's when people eat. So I got a soft pretzel, and it was NASTY. Like, really really stale. So I took it back to the counter and said, "This is like really really stale." The girl behind the counter said "Okay," and took the pretzel. Then she gave me another unsatisfying pretzel.
I really don't know why, but I was kind of expecting my money back. I mean, if the first pretzel they gave me was gross enough to warrant me giving it back, why would they think I'd want another one?
After that, I won a penguin with a bow tie from the skill crane. That's right, not everybody is a loser on those things.
